About ACD
Avery Cox Design is an Austin, Texas–based interior design studio with over a decade of experience specializing in historic homes, classical architecture, and architecturally significant properties. We bring a bold, artful approach to large-scale renovations, ground-up residential builds, and hospitality projects, blending expressive color palettes, period furnishings, and a modern take on old-world charm to create spaces with a spirit of warmth playfulness and theatricality.
Rooted in classical design principles but unafraid of irreverence, our work is defined by bold palettes, bespoke elements, and a refined yet spirited sensibility. With projects across the South, the West, and New England, we design high-end private residences, boutique hotels, and distinctive hospitality spaces for clients seeking something with soul, style, and a clear point of view.
Every project is highly personalized—an inventive mix of vintage, custom, and curated pieces that give each space its own distinct voice. Whether translating a brand into a physical experience or crafting a deeply characterful home, we aim to make spaces that surprise, delight, and endure.
Avery Cox
Principal Designer & Founder
Avery Cox is an award-winning interior designer based in Austin, Texas, known for her bold use of color, refined creativity, and ability to craft soulful, luxury interiors with lasting impact. Born and raised in Dallas, Avery has been immersed in art and architecture from an early age. Her distinctive eye was shaped by the influence of her mother, a talented painter, whose creative legacy still informs Avery’s nuanced approach to space, color, and composition.
A graduate of the interior design program at the University of Georgia, Avery began her career in New York City, training under some of the East Coast’s most respected firms. She returned to Austin in 2016 and founded Avery Cox Design, now regarded as one of the most creative and sought-after interior design studios in the region.
In her mid-20s, Avery took a detour from interiors to pursue her passion for craft food and beverage, an experience that deepened her appreciation for technical skill, sensory detail, and hospitality, principles that continue to shape her approach to design. This spirit is reflected in everything from the studio’s thoughtful collaborations with local artisans and businesses to their enviable office coffee setup and rotating stash of funky natural wine.
With over a 15 years of experience, Avery is recognized for delivering a deeply personalized, luxury design experience for clients who value creativity, artistry, and excellence. Whether working on a historic renovation, a ground-up new build, or a boutique hospitality project, Avery is consistently listed among the best interior designers in Austin for those seeking distinctive, elevated spaces that reflect personality and place.
